Getting to the Isles of Scilly
Whether you travel by air or sea you will arrive into St Mary's, the largest of the Scilly Isles.
Travel by air to St Mary’s from Bristol and Southampton (March to September) or from Exeter, Land’s End and Newquay (Year Round) with Skybus, the island’s own airline. These flights operate 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday.
From Land's End your Skybus plane will be an 8 seater aircraft with the journey taking just 15 minutes. From all other airports it will be a 19 seater (Subject to change) and take approximately 30 Minutes from Newquay, 60 minutes from Exeter, 75 minutes from Bristol and 90 minutes from Southampton.
All airports are easily accessible by road or rail and connecting flights are available from other regional airports across the UK. Call for prices and information on regional flights.
Travel by sea is from Penzance (March to October) on-board Scillonian III. The service operates between the end of March and the end of October with daily services operating in the peak season. The sailing takes approximately two and a half hours.
On board you can take in the spectacular views from the open deck. There are also reclining seats, a bar and buffet facilities.
Onward travel to Bryher and Tresco, from St Mary’s, is by small boat which has a small charge payable locally, although a year round helicopter service does operate directly to Tresco.
A helicopter service with British International operates from Penzance to St Mary’s or Tresco (Year Round) and takes just 20 minutes. This service has been operating for 40 years and is the world's longest running scheduled helicopter service. The journey by helicopter will give you amazing views of the Cornish coastline, the sea and the Isles of Scilly.
